Oh man, woke up this morning around 6 a.m. to the phone ringing, those calls wake a parent from the deepest sleep. All is well though, it was an accidental butt call, but I needed to get up anyway and put the ham in the oven.
I’m sitting here by the tree, the house is quiet except for the sound of the pot of coffee I put on brewing in the kitchen. I remember the days when the kids would have us up by this time opening presents, but now I have two here I’ll probably have to get up and the third will be rolling in with his girl friend, just back from their trip to Jamaica around 11 a.m.
It will be good to have them all here, Christmas is a time for families and friends to reconnect, and enjoy each others company. Coffee is done brewing, be right back.
Ah, that’s what I needed, some caffeine.
