Christmas Eve 2011

I’m sitting here this morning just having a hard time believing that is is Christmas Eve already.  Where did 2011 go?  Must be a sign that I’m getting older, the days, weeks, and months just fly by at times.

This last year brought lot’s of change, some good, some bad, but nothing we couldn’t handle here.  Craig graduated from Ozark Technical School in May, and believe it or not, I have everyone living at home at the moment.  I’m not going to growl about it much, I like having them here and I’m going to enjoy it as long as I can, one day they will be gone and this place will be so quiet.

2012 will be a big year, Dustin, our oldest has decided to join the National Guard, and he’ll be heading off to boot camp sometime after the first of the year.  I’m proud and a little worried at the same time, I’m sure he’ll do great, but we will surely miss him when he is gone.

Doris has decided to retire from the State, she’ll be beginning her new life March 1, 2012.  I know she is worrying about it, but I think she'll see there is life beyond state government, and it’s time to do something else.

Let’s not forget Natalie, she will turn 16 in May, watch out for that green Grand Am after that!!  I warned you!  Craig will be turning 21 in May also, not sure what to think of that, guess he’ll be able to pick up beer on the way home now.

As for me, well, I think I want 2012 to be the year I get back in touch with people, you know, face to face in touch.  I love all the Social sites out there, FaceBook, Google +, Twitter, but it’s not like sitting down and having a cup of coffee, or a beer with someone and just talking.  We get so busy at times we just don’t think we have a minute to do that, but we do, and it is so worth it in the end.

So that’s my Christmas and New Years wish for everyone, take the time, have a conversation with someone everyday, your year will be better if you do.
